Clinton to be in Ghana for Mills’ funeral

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will arrive in Ghana next week to attend the funeral of the late President Mills.

Mrs. Clinton is currently in Senegal’s capital Dakar, as she begins an African tour. Her 11-day tour will also take her to South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya, Malawi, South Africa.

The funeral of the late President Mills will take place between 8-10 August in Accra.

The funeral committee has confirmed that President Mills would be buried at the Flagstaff House in Accra.

The late President died on Tuesday, July 24 at the 37 Military Hospital after suffering from an acute cardiac arrest.

Many Head of States and other diplomats are expected to be in Ghana to pay their last respect to the late President.

Mrs. Clinton’s visit to Africa also includes a private meeting with South Africa’s anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela, now 94, in his hometown of Qunu.

Her last stop will be in Ghana, where she will attend the state funeral for the late President John Atta Mills, whose one week celebration was marked across the country yesterday.**
