Clergy urged speak against tendencies that could comprise peace

Winneba, Aug. 15, GNA – The National Democratic Congress parliamentary aspirant for Effutu, Mr. Allen Mike Hammah, has appealed to Christians, especially the clergy, to be bold enough to speak against acts that have a tendency of compromising the peace of the nation. He said churches would find it difficult to organize service if there is war and therefore urged them to condemn those beating war drums in the country.

Mr. Hammah made the appeal at the 10th Annual Harvest and Thanksgiving Service of the Calvary Peace Church in Winneba. He said the churches must ensure that there is peace in the country by always preaching peace and to speak against negative things that might undermine the security of the nation. The Owner of the Church, Prophetess A. Dompreh, appealed to politicians especial the flag bearers to use civil language in their campaign.

She appealed to political parties to organize their campaign devoid of insults, acrimony and personal attack on people and to tolerate the views of their opponents.
