Clean up exercise to herald ‘Adae Kese’ festival

Kumasi, March 23, GNA- Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, will on Saturday lead a special clean-up exercise throughout Asanteman as part of the programme of activities marking the celebration of ‘Adae Kese’ and the fifth anniversary of his enstoolment as the Asantehene. The exercise is expected to commence from Manhyia palace at 7 am. A release signed by Barima Asumadu Sakyi, Kumawuhene and Chairman of the ‘Adae Kese’ Planning Committee, said as a prelude to the exercise, the committee will meet all leaders of voluntary organisations and associations, market women, religious bodies and other bodies on Wednesday, March 24.

The release urged all stakeholders, assembly members, religious bodies and other civil society organisations to mobilise their communities and members to participate fully in the exercise. In connection with the exercise therefore, it said, all markets, stores and shops will be closed from 7 am to 10 am to ensure the participation of all in the exercise.

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), the release said, would provide some of the needed logistics and therefore appealed to organisations, institutions and individuals to contribute either in cash or in kind equipment and tools for the exercise.

Meanwhile, the release said, on Sunday, March 28, Asanteman will observe ‘Kuntunkunidae’ at Dwabrem, Manhyia, which is expected to be attended by all Amanhene and Abrempong in full according to custom.
