Churches in Ho hold services in honour of mothers

Ho, May 10, GNA – Churches in Ho on Sunday held special services to honour mothers in commemoration of Mothers’ Day. Some organised communion services while others held prayer sessions for mothers and girls. At Jubilee Christian Centre, only women and girls took part in a special Lord’s Supper to commemorate the achievement of women in the Church and in the community. Reverend James Noble Tulasi, Head Pastor of the Church commended mothers for showing care, love and compassion for their children, husbands and the world and urged mothers to remain committed to Christian virtues.

He advised them to desist from cursing rebellious and difficult children, instead they should pray for such children to change their ways. Rev. Tulasi admonished them to emulate Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, who demonstrated motherly care, and trust God in times of difficulty. He urged mothers to be prayerful and submissive to their husbands as commanded by God. Rev. Tulasi advised cruel, unfaithful, bad and idolatrous mothers to repent. Most women were clad in white clothes and danced to gospel music including “sweet mother.” Mothers’ day is an event that recognises motherhood in general and the positive contribution of mothers to society. 10 May 09
