Christians urged to assist the poor, vulnerable

Breman Asikuma (C/R), June 18, GNA-The Agona Swedru Head of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle James Smath Gyimah has urged Christians to lead worthy lives worthy of emulation.

Apostle Gyimah also urged them to offer assistance in all forms to the poor and vulnerable and also participate in development programmes in their communities they live.

Apostle Gyimah said at a thanksgiving service to climax a five-day crusade and foundation stone laying of a branch of the church at Aniebu, a suburb of Breman Asikuma.

An elder Samuel Asamoah of the branch church said the church, which started in a school building with a handful congrega in 1992 now has a population of 600 members.

He said the church was constructing its own church building at a cost of 1.1 billion cedis. The District Chief Executive, Mr. Emmanuel Adjei Domson presented 50 plastic chairs to the church. Apostle Gyimah assisted by the District Pastor, Rev. Alex K. Kereh laid the foundation stone. 18 June 07
