Christians to observe Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday, according to Christian history marks the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, over two thousand years ago.

This day is observed with beautiful decoration of churches with palm fronds and flowers and Christians carrying palm fronds amidst other tree branches in procession along streets in towns and villages to signify Christ’s majestic entry into Jerusalem.

According to the Bible Jesus went into Jerusalem, six days before his crucifixion sitting on a donkey. It said a great crowd went before and after him, spreading their garments on the way with others waving branches of trees, singing and shouting “Hasanna to the son of David; blessed is he that comes in the name of the lord, Hosanna in the highest”.

Therefore, today Christians all over the world will be celebrating this day in commemoration of the triumphant entry.
