Christian Community Microfinance undertakes health walk

Christian Community Microfinance Limited (CCML) in partnership with Nationwide Mutual Healthcare, has undertaken a health walk through some principal streets of Accra.

The walk, which saw the participation of staff from the two organisations, was also to create awareness on the importance of regular exercise in ensuring good health.

The exercise started at the Accra Polo grounds; then continued through the Kotoka International Airport to the 37 Junction and to the Ministry of Defense and back to the Polo grounds amidst drumming and dancing.

The participants, who were given health screening after the walk, were also taken through series of exercises by a physical instructor.

Mrs Naa Odey Asante, Managing Director of CCML, speaking on the theme: “Health is wealth,” said the exercise provided opportunity for the staff to also interact with its new customers about the company’s products.

She said the company believes in delivering meaningful experience to its customers and this could materialise when they are sound in mind and healthy, hence the need for all to exercise regularly.

“The company is built on strong and dedicated values such as sustainability, innovation, excellence, social responsibility and integrity with great leadership and strong Christian foundation,” Mrs Asante said.

Mrs Nancy Ampah, Chief Executive Officer of Nationwide Mutual Healthcare, said regular walking could reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, keeps weight in check as well as boost the body’s stores of vitamin D.

She said due to the nature of work, most people hardly find time to exercise and urged all to make conscious effort to exercise regularly.
