Chirano Mines Limited supports health centre

Sefwi-Chirano (W/R), Aug 19, GNA – The management of Chirano Gold Mines Limited has presented a cheque for 6,560 dollars towards the renovation of the Chirano Health Centre in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District. Mr John Seaward, General Manager of the company who presented the cheque, said in addition to the direct funding of community projects the company had established a trust fund to finance development. The setting up of the fund is in agreement with the Chirano Community Consultative Committee and is based on the gold sold from the mine. He said the company is putting into the fund a dollar for every ounce of gold sold and the fund had so far accrued more than 334,000 dollars. Dr R.A. Amoabeng, Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District Director of Health who received the cheque, thanked the company for the cheque.
