Chiefs and people of Denkyira-Boase to visit Captain Mahama’s family

The Chief of Denkyira-Baose has hinted of plans to dispatch a delegation to Accra to console the family of the late Captain Mahama Adam Mahama who was gruesomely murdered in the area.

It is not known when the delegation will leave for Accra but the Chief is optimistic they will visit before the burial on June 9, 2017.

Chief of the Denkyira, Krontihene Odiamono Twum Barimah II who regrets the action of the residents, said the visit is aimed at reconciling the deceased’s family with the area.

On Monday June 5, 2017 which marked exactly a week after Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama was murdered in a mob attack, the Denkyira Traditional Council slaughtered a sheep and poured some libation to appease the gods in order to cleanse the hitherto cursed land due to the spillage of blood of an innocent soul.

The Akyeamehene for Denkyira Traditional Council, Nana Akomea Ntriakwa said the incident has disgraced the entire Denkyira Traditional Council.

“We are unhappy about what happened and we are doing this to cleanse the land so that something like this does not happen again.

“Although it happened at Denkyira-Obuasi, it happened on Denkyira land and has dragged the name of the town in the mud. So we are here to cleanse the town and the whole of Denkyira so that peace will prevail and life will go back to normal”

Krontihene Odiamono Twum Barimah II said “we are pleading with everyone in Ghana, the government, the citizens and the family to forgive us. We have now become a subject of mockery and the mention of the name of the town angers others. Today we performed some rituals to cleanse the town so that the gods will not let that thing happen again”
