Chiefs and people of Buwa pledge support for Prez Mahama

Chiefs and people of the Buwa Traditional Area in the Sissala West District of the Upper West Region have pledged their support for President John Dramani Mahama towards the fulfilment of “the Better Ghana” agenda.

The people gave the assurance in a congratulatory statement, signed by Kuoro Barecheh Nlowie Baninye II, Niator Kuoro and acting President of the Buwa Traditional Council, to the President John Dramani Mahama on his assumption of the highest office of the land, copied to the GNA.

It said President Mahama after demonstrating his leadership qualities for the past few months as President, it was clear that he was up to the task.

“Indeed, from a humble beginning you have worked hard to achieve such a remarkable position. It is in the light of this that we are congratulating you and praying that you will have a successful stewardship as the days come by”, the statement said.

It stated that President Mahama’s mark of dexterity; humility and trustworthiness left them with a strong belief that his tenure of office would mark a period of rapid development in the country, especially in the areas of agriculture, education and health.

“It is our hope that you will amour yourself with your long acquired qualities to give a very good account of yourself”, it emphasised.

The statement appealed to President Mahama to remain focused in the discharge of his duties without fear or favour.

It called on Ghanaians to rally behind the President to enable him to execute his programmes successfully to help move the nation to a higher pedestal.

The statement commended Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, caretaker Upper West Regional Minister, for winning the Sissala West seat, and his subsequent nomination as Minister designate for Roads and Highways.
