Chief wants heavy trucks to stop using bridge

Ashalaga G/A), Dec 16, GNA – Nii Akwanor III, chief of Ashalaga near Amasaman in the Ga West District, has appealed to the Minister of Roads Transport to ban heavy trucks plying the bridge River Densu that links Ashalaga to Amasaman.

Nii Akwanor said this after inspecting the bridge with the unit committee members, elders and opinion leaders of the town. He said the bridge that was constructed 10 ago was not meant for heavy trucks such as tipper trucks.

”If measures are not taken immediately the bridge will collapse to the detriment of the people in the area who are farmers and use the bridge to send their farm produce to Amasaman.
