Chief gives out building for police station and promises land for

construction of barracks

Amasaman (G/A), July 8, GNA- Nii Commey Abbey, Chief of Gbawe Gunsee in the Greater Accra Region, has appealed to chiefs to stop employing land guards who have been causing nuisance in the area.

”The activities of land guards are causing conflict and this needs to be prevented to promote peace”, he said.

Nii Abbey said this at a durbar at which he gave a 30-million cedis building to the police to be used as a police station.

He said he would make available 17 hectares of land to the Police Administration for construction of police barracks.

”Provision of accommodation would motivate the police to arrest land guards who are destroying properties in the Greater Accra Region”, he said.
