Chief Finances Rehabilitation Of Two Bridges

Akim Asene (E/R) Nana Ako Frimpong the second, chief of Akim Asene in the Birim south district, is financing the rehabilitation of two bridges over Adim river at a cost of 3.6 million cedis. The 90 feet long bridges were constructed in 1990 by Nana Frimpong. The chief, who led newsmen to inspect one of the bridges, said the project is his contribution towards the development of the area. He said the bridges facilitate the movement of farmers and school children to Akim Asene and Oda and that more than six communities including Kwama village, Yirenkyikrom and Charleskrom are benefiting from the project. The bridges were constructed by technicians from the Ghana Railway Corporation, using steel rails and wood. Mr. Kwasi Ankoma-Kusi, assembly member for Awisa West electoral area, one of the three electoral areas in Asene, commended the chief for his patriotism and appealed to the government, to build more of such bridges at vantage points along the river.
