Niator, (U/W), Dec. 10, GNA – Kuoro Berecheh Nlowie Baninye II, Chief of Niator in the Sissala West District of the Upper West Region, has called for the avoidance of bureaucratic procedures in the implementation of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA). He said such procedures had in the past disrupted the successful implementation of some important government interventions and that must not be allowed to happen in the case of SADA. Kuoro Baninye made the call during the 26th District Farmers’ Day Celebration in the District.
The chief who is also the Acting President of the Buwa Traditional Council expressed the need for SADA to pursue the construction of dams and the upgrading of economically viable roads in the region. Kuoro Baninye, who touched on environment and sanitation, said Provisional National Defence Council Law 229 needed Parliamentary review to empower traditional authorities to deal with offenders. The ruling National Democratic Congress established SADA to reduce poverty in the Northern, Upper East and West Regions.
