Chemical Engineering Students of KNUST set up project fund

Kumasi, Oct.18, GNA – The Chemical Engineering Students Association of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has set up a project fund to facilitate academic work and development of the students.

The fund would be used to purchase laboratory equipment and establish a production unit to enhance student’s work. Mr Jerry John Tetteh Narhyumu, President of the association, announced this when the association donated food items worth three million cedis to the Kumasi Children’s Home at the weekend, as part of activities marking their 20th Annual Week Celebrations. The items included four bags of rice, a bag of sugar, some used clothes and confectionaries.

Mr Narhyumu said the production unit when established would assist students to put into practice their discoveries and ideas. He appealed to corporate bodies and stakeholders in education to assist the association to realize its objectives. Madam Victoria Asugnya, Supervisor of the Home, who received the items, expressed appreciation to the association for its gesture and gave the assurance that the items would be put to good use.
