Ajumako-Afranse (C/R), Nov. 21, GNA- A 2.5 billion cedis national youth centre, to train the youth with employable skills is being provided at Ajumako-Afranse in the Central Region.
The project, which was started in November last year, is being funded by the Ministry of Finance and the 12 District Assemblies in the region. The centre would provide training in vocations like carpentry, joinery, masonry and agriculture.
Mr Joe Mantey, National Coordinator of the National Youth Council (NYC), on Wednesday inspected work on the project as part of a day’s working visit to the region, and expressed satisfaction of the work done.
Mr Mantey appealed to the chiefs in the area to help accommodate the teachers who would be posted to teach at the centre.
He commended the district assemblies and the chief of the area, Nana Osamdadi IV, for their enthusiasm and support for the project.
Nana Osamadadi IV called on the government to release funds to ensure the early completion of the project, and said some volunteers from the Netherlands have donated some tools for the centre.
