The Central University College is soon to establish a medical school.
The University’s Chancellor, Dr. Mensa Otabil announced the intention last week during the International Central Gospel Church’s Greater Works 2013 Conference in Accra.
According to Pastor Otabil, who is the General Overseer of the Church, which owns the University, “we are in the process of building a teaching hospital to start a medical school at Central University”.
The Central University College (CUC) is a non-profit educational initiative of ICGC, to provide Christian-based tertiary education for the expansion of God’s Kingdom.
It has its origins in a short-term pastoral training institute, which was started in 1988 by the Church.
It was later incorporated in June 1991 under the name Central Bible College.
The name was later changed to Central Christian College in 1993. The College later upgraded its programmes to the baccalaureate level.
It then expanded its programme to include an integrated and practice-oriented business school (the School of Business Management and Administration, now Central Business School).
To reflect its new status as a liberal arts university, the name was changed to Central University College in 1997.
