CCFC provides educational support to schools in East Gonja

Sakpalua (NR), Dec. 17, GNA – The Christian Children’s Fund of Canada (CCFC), a Tamale-based International non-governmental organisation (NGO), on Thursday presented assorted drugs, educational materials and school uniforms valued at 45 million cedis to 11 schools in the East Gonja District of the Northern Region.

The NGO also organised a pre Christmas party for about 1,200 pupils in 10 communities in the District.

Mrs Sanatu Nantogma, Field Director of CCFC who presented the items said the NGO was collaborating with some organisations in the Region to promote child Development.

She said the main intervention areas of CCFC were the provision of water and good sanitation, primary health care, education and micro-enterprise development.

Mrs Nantogma advised parents to take advantage of the educational support programmes of CCFC to send their children to school particularly the girl child.

Mr Alhassan Mumuni, a Circuit Supervisor with the Ghana Education Service who received the items on behalf of the District, commended CCFC for the kind gesture.
