Catholic Church to support flood victims.

Pramso (Ash (, Oct 1, GNA- The Catholic Church would, from next week, start a campaign to raise funds to support flood victims in the three northern regions.

The campaign which would start from October 7 to October 14 and it would be replicated in all Catholic churches in the country. The Most Reverend Thomas Mensah, Catholic Bishop of the Obuasi Diocese, said this on Sunday in a sermon to commemorate the Feast of Saint Michael at Pramso near Kuntenase in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District.

Most Reverend Mensah appealed to Catholics to contribute generously to the fund to help improve the living conditions of those affected by the flood.

He appealed to Catholics to be guided by the tenets and principles of Catholicism in their endeavours for an accelerated development of the church.

The Bishop stressed the need for them to evolve measures and programmes that would help complement government’s efforts in the nation’s development process.
