Catering school graduates students

The Municipal Chief Executive of New Juabeng, Dr Kwaku Owusu Acheampong, has said the days when government provided jobs for all graduates are past and gone.

He said the country must recognize that good entrepreneurship was critical for economic success and that needed to be promoted to get the country out of the current economic crisis.

Dr Acheampong was speaking at the 26th graduation ceremony of the Liberty Specialist Institute, a private catering institute at Koforidua.

He said entrepreneurship empowered individuals and appealed to people to develop their own potentials.

Dr Acheampong stressed the need for the elimination of regulations and cultural norms which prevented women entrepreneurs from realizing their potential and bringing their good ideas to fruition.

He said the government had taken steps to provide the environment for the expansion of the private sector to create jobs and advised new entrepreneurs to learn from the older ones.

Rev. Mrs Edna Ametameh, the Managing Director of the school, urged the 87 graduates to seize every opportunity that comes their way and cultivate the habit of saving and establish long term relationships with relevant stakeholders in the industry.

Richard Danquah, the out-going senior prefect, said the school lacked a bus as a result students found it difficult to attend and participate in external extra curriculum activities.

He appealed to the Parent/Teacher Association (PTA), philanthropists and the public to come to their aid of the school.
