Cardinal Ordains nine priests in the Konongo-Mampong diocese

Jamasi (Ash), Aug 8, GNA – His Eminence Peter Cardinal Appiah Turkson on Saturday ordained nine deacons in the Konongo-Mampong diocese of the Catholic Church into priesthood at a colourful ceremony at Jamasi in the Afigya-Sekyere District of Ashanti.

They are Reverend Father Emmanuel Bawuah Frimpong, Reverend Father Clement Arthur Boachie, Rev Father Mark Owusu, Rev Father Sylvester Frimpong and Rev Father Dominic Nifa Amoako.

The rest are Rev Father Francis Akomea, Rev Father Francis Amoako, Rev Father Dominic Mensah Assim and Rev Father Joseph Sarpong. Preaching the sermon, Cardinal Turkson urged the newly ordained priests to sacrifice for the salvation of their flock in fulfilment of the vision for which they had been called.

He asked them to live above reproach so that God could use them as a channel of blessings to the people who were desperately looking for salvation for their souls.

Cardinal Turkson admonished them to co-operate with the Most Reverend Joseph Osei Bonsu, Bishop of the diocese in his quest to facilitate the physical and spiritual development of the flock.

“Divergent views should follow administrative procedure for the resolution of any problem as a peace gesture,” he told the newly ordained priests.
