Car snatcher arrested at New Edubiase

Police at New Edubiase in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region have arrested 43-year-old Nicolas Adjei who attempted snatching a Toyota Corolla taxi cab with registration number No GS 328 -13 from its owner.

According to 25-year-old Isaac Owusu, the suspect hired the vehicle from Kumasi but on reaching a village called Atase Nkwanta in New Edubiase, he pulled a pistol and snatched the taxi from him.

The police were immediately notified, pursued and arrested the suspect between New Edubiase and Akim Oda road.

The vehicle was retrieved and a search on him revealed a Bruno MOD pistol with 4 rounds of live ammunitions, a knife, keys of other vehicles, face mask and a screw driver.

The registration Number of the vehicle was also changed to AW 178-13 immediately he snatched it while road worthy certificate of the taxi cab was also found to have been changed. He is currently in police custody assisting in investigations.
