Accra, May 22, GNA – A 600 million cedi manse built by the Calvary Presbyterian Church of Ghana, at Haatso, was on Sunday inaugurated at a ceremony in Accra.
The project, which started in September 2003, was funded through harvests and day-born groups of the Church. The building that would serve as the pastoral station of the Ga Presbytery comprises of four living rooms, a study hall, and toilet facilities.
Reverend Dr David Nii Anum Kpobi, Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery, who inaugurated the building, expressed his gratitude to persons whose contributions facilitated the completion of the project. He urged Christians to show love to their neighbours especially by providing for the poor and the needy in society.
He deplored the attitude of some youths who wants to pass their examinations without putting in any effort. Professor Mike Oquaye, Minister Of Energy and Member of Parliament (MP) for the area commended the Presbyterian Church for its assistance in both education and health.
He also urged Christians to take active interest in matters that affect the lives and the governance of the people, adding that every individual had a role to play in the country’s democratic process. 22 May 05
