C/R: We always carry kitchen stools and plastic chairs to school for sitting – Pupil’s laments

Pupils at Enyan Obontser D/A Basic School in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District in the Central Region are lamenting the lack of adequate classroom desks, forcing them to bring kitchen stools and plastic chairs to sit on during lessons.

The stools and chairs, some broken, make it difficult for students to concentrate during class.

The pupils are appealing to traditional authorities, the District Chief Executive of Ajumako Enyan Essiam District, and the government to provide enough classroom desks.

This challenges faced pupils at Enyan Obontser D/A Basic School, where the classroom desks are inadequate for comfortable sitting, and as a result, students have to bring their own kitchen stools and plastic chairs to school for seating.

The Senahen of Enyan Denkyira Traditional Area, Osaade3yo Ayeboafo Etuaful in an interview with Ghone newsYaw Boagyan, urged parents to take responsibility for their children’s education by supplying basic learning materials.

He also donated 2,000 exercise books to the school and called on the community to support the school’s needs.

Mr. Obed Donkor, the assistant headteacher, thanked the chief for the donation and further appealed to parents, chiefs, and community members to provide educational materials and desks to improve the learning environment.

The school serves many neighbouring communities and continues to face challenges related to insufficient desks and learning resources.
