Buy Ghana 2009

The 1st edition of Buy Ghana 2009, an expo for Trade & Commerce focusing on made in Ghana products will be held in the nation’s capital, Accra in September 8 – 13th 2009 at the International Conference Center. This Exhibition and Conference is organized by Vibe Productions, the events arm of the of the nation’s influential radio station Vibe 91.9 Fm, and supported by the Ministry of Trade & Industries, which has been expressing it desire to promote made in Ghana products.

Buy Ghana 2009 is being organized under the auspices the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and Association of Ghana Industries.

According to B. Kwame Tawiah, the coordinator of Buy Ghana 2009, a high level Steering Committee has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Hon. Joseph Roberts-Mensah, Director of Ghana-Liberian Chamber of Commerce together with stakeholders to develop a national campaign which commencing in May to promote Ghana made products and ensure a high patronage for this event.

Buy Ghana 2009 provides an ideal platform for manufacturers to establish contacts with the buyers on one hand and other agents on the other. Mr. Kwame Tawiah mentioned that the exhibition will provided an opportunity for the technological integration of packaging and branding of products both the domestic and export market. The fair also seeks to provide a platform for music producers and fashion designers to showcase their talents.

A number of delegations, from at least 10 African countries, are expected to visit the Buy Ghana 2009 with a view to sourcing the partnership of local manufacturers, Mr. Kwame Tawiah added. Buy Ghana 2009. He urged the industry to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the Buy Ghana 2009 to upgrade the product quality and ensure increased exports as well as domestic sales.
