Businessman supports Oblogo’s community initiative

Oblogo (GAR), July 2, GNA – Nana Adu Boahene, an Accra businessman, is assisting the Oblogo community with building materials worth 20 million cedis and cash donation of 10 million cedis towards the completion of a 200 million cedi KVIP and bathhouse project. The building materials included 50 bags of cements, 70 pieces of boards and one ton of iron rods.

Making the presentation on Thursday as part of activities making the 44th anniversary celebration of Ghana’s Republican status, Nana Boahene said the assistance had become necessary to ensure the early completion of the project. He appealed to other residents to support it.

Nii Kwaku Bibini III, chief of Oblogo and sole financier of the project commended Nana Boahene for his support to the people and expressed the hope that some Non-Governmental Organisations would also provide similar support.

He expressed regret that the District Assembly had not been fair with Oblogo in the provision of social amenities, adding that all the projects undertaken in the town were through self-help initiatives. Nii Bibini called on the Assembly to extend development projects to the area to ensure a fairer distribution of the District’s resources.
