Burglary in Offinso schools increased

Offinso (Ashanti Region) 28 Oct ’98 The Offinso district education directorate has expressed concern about the rampant and increasing burglary in educational institutions in the district and called for effective measures to combat it.

Mr B.K. Owusu-Ansah, Assistant Director at the Offinso education office, said schools burgled recently include Amoawi, Adiembra-Aduana, Samproso and Koforidua primary.

He said this at a School Performance Appraisal Meeting (SPAM) at Kokote, near Offinso, yesterday. SPAM is a follow-up to a “baseline study on literacy and numeracy” conducted by the Ministry of Education in 17 primary schools in the Kokote education circuit.
