Brong-Ahafo holds workshop on community planning

Techiman (B/A), June 16, GNA – A two-day workshop on advocacy, monitoring and evaluation for implementation of community action plans initiated by Abono Organic Farming Projects (ABOFAP) under the auspices of Care International-Ghana, has ended. The workshop organized by ABOFAP and sponsored by Care International-Ghana, brought together 50 participants made up of unit committees, assembly members, town and area councillors, chiefs and queen mothers as well as farmer-led extension agents. Nana Kwaw Adams, Executive Director of ABOFAP, said seven out of the 10 communities earmarked for the development of their own action plans had been completed and would be incorporated into the assemblies medium term development plans. The seven completed communities are Fiaso, Tanoso, Boankunu, Forikrom, Amomatoa, Akrofrom and Ampemkrom with Ayeasu, Bonkwae and Atrensu yet to have their plans developed. Mr. Charles Ampofo, Project Officer of ABOFAP noted that the purpose of advocacy is aimed at winning support from others and thereby creating supportive environment, saying lobbying, sensitization, dialoguing were major tactics of advocacy. 16 June 10
