British national dies in a Koforidua hotel room

A female British national has been found dead in a hotel in Koforidua in the Eastern region of Ghana.

The deceased reportedly checked into the Mac-Dic Royal Plaza with her Ghanaian husband, who is a pastor, on March 17 and was scheduled to check out on March 21.

But hotel staff found her dead in a bathroom.

According to Starr News’ Eastern regional correspondent Kojo Ansah, the staff of the hotel “force opened the room” because she was nowhere to be found when her “checkout time” was due.

“She was found dead in the bath house. The police were called in and took inventory,” Ansah reported.

The hotel is currently helping the Eastern regional police command to investigate the issue.

The body of the deceased has been brought to the Police Hospital in Accra by the Homicide Unit of the Ghana Police Service.
