British High Commission presents school block to village

Accra, July 28, GNA- The British High Commission in collaboration with the Ghana Outlook has presented a three-classroom block, with storeroom and teachers’ office, to the people of Ziavi in the Volta Region.

A statement issued in Accra on Wednesday by the High Commission said it part-funded the Ziavi Bamefedo School Project at a cost of 36 million cedis from its Small Grants Scheme.

The project’s co-funders included Ghana Outlook, the District Assembly and the community who provided labour for the project and where possible materials which could be sourced locally. The statement said the project would help improve the educational infrastructure at the village and ensure an all-year round access to education.

It would also provide a permanent building structure for the Junior Secondary School (JSS), which hitherto was using a grass-thatched roof structure.
