Boy swept away in a drain during heavy rainfall

Goaso (B/A), May 10, GNA – An eight-year-old boy who got swept away in a drain during a heavy downpour last Friday at Goaso in the Asunafo District is still missing, three days after the tragedy.

Master Philip Adjei, a pupil of the Local Authority Primary School, was playing with his friends around the drain when he fell into it. Speaking to the GNA, Madam Esther Frimpong, the mother of the child, said her son left home last Friday with his play mates around 1430 hours to witness an inter-schools athletics competition. She said 30 minutes later one of his mates came and reported that Adjei had fallen into a drain and had been swept away.

Mad Frimpong said she raised an alarm that attracted many people to the scene but tried as they did together with the police and the traditional authorities, her son has not been found.
