Boy killed by Taxi-cab

Two brothers Nakyia Vidoo, 14 and Nakyia Nwonda, 12, were knocked down by a taxi-cab at Jaway Wharf on Saturday resulting in the death of Vidoo on the way to hospital.

A family spokesman told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Jaway Wharf that Nwonda and Vidoo operate as truck pushers at Jaway Wharf market on Saturdays to earn some money.

On the day of the accident, the two brothers decided to leave the market early to join other relatives to welcome a prominent member of the family who was on a visit. It was on their way home in the afternoon that the taxi-cab with registration number GW 1723 T knocked them down.

They were rushed to the Half Assini government hospital but Vidoo was pronounced dead on arrival.

The driver of the taxi, Erzoah Awuah, 26, was placed in police custody at Half Assini pending investigations.

The deceased has since been buried after post mortem .
