Boy, 12, goes ‘mad’ after consuming wee ‘toffee’

A 12-year-old boy at Otenkrom in the Western region, Jibril, is currently on admission at the hospital after consuming toffee suspected to be laced with cannabis.

Jibril according to sources, started behaving abnormally after consuming the locally made toffee popularly referred to as ‘wudaa wudaa’ which means “you are deeply asleep” in a local parlance.

Reporting the incident to Nyankonton Mu Nsem, Tahiru Alidu said, the victim used his ‘chop money’ to purchase the toffee.

The victim, he explained started jumping from one end to the other feeling hot flashes and shouting, until he was rushed to the hospital.
