Book of condolence opened for London Explosions

Accra, July 11, GNA – Professor Alex Kwapong, Former Chairman of the Council of State, on Monday signed the book of condolence opened at the British High Commission in Accra following the July 7 explosions on public transport systems in Britain.

“I am very sad. Those involved were not only British but of many nationalities.” Prof Kwapong told the Ghana News Agency in Accra.

“All Ghanaians, extend our deepest condolence to Britain.” When the GNA left the Commission around 1100 hours on Monday, 10 people including diplomats and country directors of British firms had signed the book, which was opened last Friday.

The Book, which is opened between 0900 hours and 1200 noon daily, would be closed on Thursday, July 14.

So far 52 people have been confirmed dead by the London Police with more than 700 injured.

Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama was the first to sign the Book to express Ghana’s profound condolences to the British.
