Bolgatanga Assembly Establishes Education Fund

Bolgatanga, Sept. 4, The Bolgatanga District Assembly has established an educational endowment fund to support needy children. The Assembly has also voted 57 million cedis from its share of the common fund to provide furniture to basic schools in the district. Mr. Charles Abas, the District Coordinating Director, made this known at a seminar on the educational reforms organised for teachers in the Bolgatanga district. He said the rapid population growth has outstripped the ability of government to provide quality education through the training of more teachers and the provision of basic learning and teaching materials and other logistics.
