The Savannah regional representative on Ghana’s Council of State, Tingawura Sampson Seidu Abudu, has died after a short illness, according to an announcement by the Bole Traditional Council.
The respected traditional ruler’s death was announced in the early hours of Sunday, 28 August. He was described as a prominent figure in Bole and a key unifying presence among the people of the area.
In a statement, the Bole Traditional Council said the announcement was made by Yiram Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso, Paramount Chief of Bole Traditional Area, alongside the Chiefs and Elders of the Sarfope Royal Gate and the wider Bole community.
“It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that Yiram Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso, Paramount Chief of Bole Traditional Area, together with the Chiefs and Elders of the Sarfope Royal Gate and the entire people of Bole, announces the sudden passing of our father, beloved uncle, brother, Member of the Council of State for the Savannah Region, and great unifier of our people Tinga Wura Alhaji Sampson Seidu Abudu.”
The statement referred to the late chief as a member of the Council of State for the Savannah Region, confirming the public role he held until his death.
Tingawura Sampson Seidu Abudu was also remembered as a revered traditional ruler. His death was reported as sudden, following the short illness, and has been announced by the traditional authorities in Bole.
Before serving as the Savannah regional representative on the Council of State, he was a District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bole. The source article does not give further details about the timing of his previous public office or the arrangements following his death.
