Ampem Darkoa Ladies began their 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League Zone B WAFU Qualifiers campaign with a hard-earned victory over defending WAFU B champions ASEC Mimosas, putting the Ghanaian champions in a strong early position in Group B.
The Ghana Women’s League champions produced a dominant display against their Ivorian opponents, although they had to rely on goalkeeper Rose Baah to keep the match level in the opening stages.
Baah made the decisive intervention in the sixth minute when she saved a penalty awarded to ASEC Mimosas. Her stop prevented the defending champions from taking an early lead and allowed Ampem Darkoa Ladies to remain in contention.
