Blood shortage hits Korle-Bu

The Greater Accra Regional Secretary of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), Prince Opuni Frimpong, has appealed to management of Atinka Media Village to help organize a blood donation exercise to get enough blood to stock the National Blood Bank at Korle Bu.

He explained that, due to the shortage of blood at the blood bank, patients and pregnant women are directed to other health facilities to get blood to aid their treatment.

He made this passionate appeal when they (GRNMA) presented a citation in honor of Atinka Media Village for collaborating with them in all their activities especially their Nurses’ Week celebration held in May.

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Atinka Media Village, Elder Matthew Nkansah promised Atinka Media Village’s full support, adding that the Executive Chairman of Tobinco Group of Companies, Samuel Amo Tobbin is very passionate about such initiatives.

‘Our Executive Chairman, Elder Samuel Amo Tobbin is a man who is very passionate about peoples’ health and wellbeing and will be delighted in helping, so let’s plan out something and execute it in the shortest possible time’’.
