Bibiani District Assembly relocates evicted street hawkers

Bibiani, May 12, GNA- The Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District Assembly, has constructed a new lorry terminal at the cost of 1.1 billion cedis, to resettle transport operators and street hawkers who have been evicted on pavements and major roads in the District.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Bibiani, Mr Isaac Richmond Mensah, District Environmental Health Officer, said the project would improve upon sanitation at the Central business district. He said five of the 12 transport organisations that applied for permit to operate at the station have received approval.

They include the Ghana Private Road and Transport Union, Progressive Road and Transport Association, Co-operative, Mighty and Metro Mass Transit buses. 13 May 05
