Beware of fraudsters posing as military capos – Ghana Armed Forces warns

Senior military officers of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) have decried the manner in which some unscrupulous persons are using their names to defraud unsuspecting citizenry in the country with promises of recruiting them into the service.

They have therefore served notice that those caught in such acts, will be severely dealt with, indicating that the Military Police have been tasked to investigate the matter and bring such faceless persons to book.

Director of Public Affairs of the GAF, Colonel Aggrey-Quarshie who confirmed this ahead of plans to screen potential recruits into the service throughout the country, said the officers are not enthused about the latest development.

“A lot of people continue to fall victim to this process, just last Friday somebody was in my office, claiming to have spoken to me the previous day, we eventually got to know that, it was the wrong number,” he told Citi

To this end, he called on members of the public to be wary of individuals who pose as senior military officers on social media and try to solicit funds from the public under the guise of recruiting them into the Ghana Armed Forces.

He urged the public to be aware of such fraudsters and inform the police immediately they come across such persons in order to have them arrested.
