Berekum MCE-nominee overwhelmed by residents support

The MCE-nominee for Berekum in the Brong Ahafo region Kofi Adjei has expressed his gratitude to residents of the town for the immense support they have showed him since his nomination by President Akufo-Addo.

According to him, although he was sure of his popularity in the area, he has been overwhelmed by the love shown to him by the people of Berekum.

Speaking to Brong Ahafo-based Metro FM, Mr. Adjei assured the people of his readiness to serve as he awaits approval by the Berekum municipal assembly.

“I must admit I have been shocked by the show of love and support by the people of Berekum. I knew I had some support, but this exceptional show of love is humbling, and I am pleased,” he said.

He added: “I just want to assure the people of Berekum that I will not disappoint them if I’m endorsed and sworn into office. I will stand by them every step of the way, they can trust me for that”.

Many of the nominees by the President have been met with stiff opposition from some youth across the country with some accusing NPP executives of conniving to make the President bypass their preferred candidates
