The Grand United Order of OddFellows (GUOOF), a worldwide Christian benevolent religious society, has donated medical items worth GHC2,000.00 to the 37 Military Hospital.
The donation was to support the victims of the 3 June twin disaster of flood and fire, which occurred at the Goil Filling Station at Circle.
Presenting the items, Brother Dennis Vormawor, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the non-governmental organisation, said it was the society’s widow’s mite to assist the victims.
He expressed the hope that their modest support would augment the stock of drugs to meet the needs of the victims.
Brother Vormawor appealed to other well-meaning organisations to lend their support to the hospital to enable it to continue performing its humanitarian work.
Colonel Gladys Amantana, the Deputy Matron (Clinicals), who received the items on behalf of the Command of the Hospital, expressed gratitude to the members of GUOOF for their generosity.
She said their timely intervention would ensure the speedy recovery of the victims.
The GUOOF was established in 1879 in Ghana and has members across the country and extends its benevolence and charity to society, especially widows and orphans.
