Begoro drivers elect officers

Begoro, July 05, GNA – Drivers have been advised to maintain their vehicles regularly before putting them on the road to avoid accidents.

The Eastern Regional Chairman of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Mr James Cudjoe, gave the advice when he swore in new executives of three branches of drivers union at Begoro, on Tuesday.

The executives were from Begoro number one, Begoro Taxi and Cargo branches and would serve a four-year term of office.

Mr Cudjoe advised drivers to be law abiding and give respect to passengers to portray a good image for the profession.

He urged them to observe traffic regulations and also respect the dignity of passengers.

The Begoro taxi branch chairman, Mr Opoku Sadiq, on behalf of the executives expressed gratitude to his colleagues for the trust reposed in them for another term of office.

He appealed to the drivers to pay vehicle income taxes regularly to generate revenue for the state.
