Bediako receives Honorary Member of the British Empire

Accra, Aug. 26, GNA – Mrs Adelita Maria Prereira Bediako, a Front Desk Executive at the British High Commission was on Wednesday presented with an honorary Member of the British Empire (MBE) Award for her distinctive service to the High Commission.

Mrs Adelita Bediako, a Brazilian who has worked with the Commission for the past 22 years, is married to Mr Hope Bediako, a Ghanaian Multilingual Translator.

Presenting the award on behalf of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Mr Gordon Wetherell, British High Commissioner to Ghana, said Mrs Badiako’s tireless and dedicated service enabled her to hold and enjoy the dignity and rank of an honorary member of the Civil Division of the Order of the British Empire.

“Her politeness and efficiency has won hearts of people both inside and outside of the British High Commission”, he said.

Mrs Bedaiko said she was grateful for the honour done her by Her Majesty the Queen and that she would cherish and appreciate it for as long as she lived.
