Bedbugs invade school for the deaf in Koforidua

The Koforidua School for the deaf has been hit by bedbugs infestation.
Starr News sources say the pupils reported the development to the school authorities, prompting a fumigation of the compound.

However, the insects have refused to disappear causing discomfort for the school and disturbing pupils in their hostel.

The Headmaster of the school Jonas Agbona who confirmed the incident to Starr News’ Eastern regional Correspondent Kojo Ansah said this is the first time the school is recording such an invasion by bedbugs since he took over four years ago.

He said even though short term measures have been immediately taken to mitigate the impact, the school requests external help from organizations capable of dealing with bedbugs before the issue gets out of hands.

Currently, there are 250 pupils with ear impairment accommodated at the school’s hostel.
