Be more creative and adventurous, youth advised

The Omanhene of the Nzema East Traditional Area, Owulae Amihere Kpanyinli III, has called on the youth to endeavor to be creative, adventurous and utilize skills acquired to better their lot.

He said it was unfortunate that some youth after acquiring employable skills do not put them into any profitable use but rather sit aloof expecting white-collar jobs.

This attitude, he said, should change as they showed more seriousness in their endeavors for accelerated national development.

Owulae Kpanyinli said this at the passing-out ceremony of 40 trainees after they had undergone a nine-month training programme at the Kikam Technical Institute on Friday.

The trainees were instructed in aluminum fabrication, computer hardware and mobile phone repairs, electrical, refrigeration and air-conditioner repairs.

The training programme christened, “Youth Capacity-building Training”, was funded by the Adamus Resources Limited and Australian High Commission.

Mr. Mark Addo, Vice President of Adamus Resources Limited in charge of Corporate Social Responsibility, said the training aimed at providing the youth with employable and entrepreneurial skills.

Adamus and Australia High Commission also commissioned US$72,000 dollars water and sanitation facilities for Teleku Bokazo and Anwia basic and junior high schools in the Ellembelle District.

The project entails the construction of a three eight-seater acqua-privy toilets and two boreholes with pumps to the two beneficiary schools.

Mr. Addo said that the facilities would create an attractive learning environment that would increase and stimulate students’ enrollment.

The Ellembelle District Director of Education Madam Dinah Gyimah, commended Adamus and the Australian Government for investing in the youth and appealed for more educational infrastructure in the district to improve the quality of education.**
