Cape Coast, Nov.28, GNA – Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, New Patriotic Party(NPP) presidential candidate, on Thursday said he had “prayed upon the choice and had been guided by God” in the choice of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate.
He therefore denied speculations that he had recently said on a television programme that Dr Bawumia had been imposed on him, and stressed that he had personally submitted Dr Bawumia’s name for consideration by the party’s National Executive. Nana Akufo-Addo, who stated these during an interaction with the media in Cape Coast, as part of his visit to the Central Region, stressed that he was his own man, and described his choice of Dr Bawumia, as someone who met the “criteria of regional and religious balance”.
According to him, his running mate, was a first class banker, whose in depth knowledge of the economy, would be of tremendous assistance to his administration, and that he (Akufo-Addo), was extremely happy about his choice, since Dr Bawumia was already “doing tremendously well in the campaign”, and was proving to be the centre of encouragement to the young people, and was their role model.
