Bawumia calls on National Chief Imam

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2016 running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Thursday, paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam in Accra, after returning from Mecca.

Dr Bawumia commended the National Chief Imam for his continuous prayers toward the development of Ghana and urged him to continue.

He conveyed his condolence to the family of all those who lost their relatives during the Hajj stampede, and expressed the hope that the missing ones would also be found alive.

He announced that, as part of marking his successful return from the Hajj, he would join other Muslims on Friday to perform prayers at the Central Mosque – Abossey Okai and hold the final prayers, on Saturday, at his residence, to which he invited the National Chief Imam.

Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam, prayed that God would grant Dr Bawumia’s wish and give him good health.

He expressed happiness about the peaceful co-existence among all religious faiths in the country and prayed that it continued.
