Banko launches education endowment fund

Banko (Ash), May 13, GNA- The people of Banko near Effiduase in the Sekyere East district of Ashanti on Sunday launched an educational endowment fund to promote education in the town.

Under the fund, brilliant but needy pupils would be assisted to pursue education to the highest level.

Nana Adjei Manu Berchie, Adontenhene of Banko who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the people have raised about 20 million cedis through fund-raising activities to support the fund. He said four brilliant but needy pupils in the town were being sponsored at Senior Secondary Schools (SSS).

Nana Berchie therefore appealed to citizens of the town both at home and abroad to contribute towards a worthy cause.
