Atuabo (W/R), Aug 16, GNA – Awulae Amihere Kpanyinli II, Omanhene of Eastern Nzema Traditional Area, has been asked to settle land and chieftaincy disputes to facilitate the development of the area.
Mr. Daniel K. Eshun, District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ellembelle, who made the appeal, cautioned the chiefs that disputes could deter investors from investing in the area.
The DCE, who was speaking at a meeting of the Eastern Nzema Traditional Council at Atuabo, asked the chiefs to take advantage of the existence of Public Relations and Complaint Committee of the Assembly and settle all disputes.
Mr. Eshunm advised the Council to design a programme to support the education of students in the area to complement that of the Assembly.
Mr. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, suggested to Awulae Kpanyinli to organize a peace conference for conflicting factions in Eastern Nzema to discuss ways of ending all disputes for sustainable development.
He advised the chiefs to be politically neutral and contribute to the national development agenda.
Mr. Buah appealed to the chiefs to support education in the area to enable the people in Nzema take advantage of the opportunities that the oil find and mining would offer the country, to improve upon their living conditions.
Awulae Kpanyinli pledged that he would collaborate with the Traditional Council to ensure peace and unity for the progress of the area.
